Being a new parent is a life changing event, often in the best way imaginable. With this however, there also comes a lot of challenges. Designed for both pregnant and new parents, research-based Bringing Baby Home workshops prepare couples for life with baby. In a relaxed and supportive environment, parents learn to strengthen their relationship and foster baby’s development during this challenging time.
Even the strongest relationships are strained during the transition to parenthood. Lack of sleep, never-ending housework and new fiscal concerns can lead to profound stress and a decline in marital satisfaction — all of which affect baby’s care. The Bringing Baby Home program teaches couples how to:
Increase friendship in their relationship
Deal effectively with conflict
Involve dads in infant care and parenting
Improve the quality of parent-infant interaction
Recognize the psychological and emotional needs of their child
The best predictor of marital adjustment post-baby is the quality of friendship in the marriage. The Bringing Baby Home workshop teaches the skills needed to encourage healthy, supportive family relationships in 3 half day sessions, working alongside me as your facilitator and educator as I offer one on one guidance and support.
